Throwback Thursday: See How Much The ‘Henry Danger’ Cast Grew Up!

Jace Norman, Sean Ryan Fox, Riele Downs, Ella Anderson and Cooper Barnes make up one of our favorite comedy teams on television right now.

It’s really no wonder just why the Henry Danger cast won Favorite TV show at the recent Kids’ Choice Awards — they’re hilarious…and they actually grew up right in front of our eyes without us even knowing it!

Seriously, Ella looks NOTHING like she did when the show started back in 2014.

Henry Danger currently airs on Saturdays @ 8PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.

Henry Danger's Jace Norman Spills What It's Really Like Auditioning for 'iCarly' Creator Dan Schneider

We’ve seen a ton of audition footage for our favorite Nickelodeon and Disney Channel actors…but when you go out for a Dan Schneider project, it’s a bit different.

Jace Norman, who is Henry of Henry Danger, dished NKD magazine about what it was like for him with his audition.

“I was auditioning for all the Nickelodeon stuff and then there this Dan Schneider project, and I didn’t know who he was at the time,” he says.

“I looked him up and was like, ‘Oh wow, he made all my favorite shows growing up.’ He created all of the Nickelodeon shows basically, like Zoey 101, Drake and Josh, and iCarly.”

What happens is that Dan has every actor audition with one particular sketch that he wrote.

Jace shares, “I don’t know if he just sees if you have comedic timing or what, but it’s this weird sketch where you play a character called Alex, who’s auditioning for a part. The character plays different characters.”

Obviously, he booked the part — but he didn’t know exactly what part it was.

“I knew I was one of the leads, but I didn’t know I was playing Henry, it was called like, Marve Mars, and I played David,” Jace remembers.

“I think people did that so we couldn’t tell what was going on. I was like, ‘Oh, I’m Henry of Henry Danger’ when I got the script.”

Jace Norman’s Big Break Happened Because of His Brother

We love to hear stories about how actors got their big break and Jace Norman’s is actually a cool one.

The Henry Danger star spilled to HuffPo’s The Tea newsletter that his big break is actually in thanks to his brother, Xander.

“I used to live in New Mexico on a farm,” he recalls. “My brother and I had this camera and we would just make movies. We were really big fans of Star Wars.”

Jace reveals that it was his brother who “asked if he could go audition for an agent, and I went too. Things ended up working out pretty well for me somehow… and not too good for him.”

He joked later on, “It’s kind of awkward.”

Jace Norman Loves How 'Henry Danger' Portrays Superheroes

Jace Norman has starred as the title character in Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger for what seems like a long time.

The star of the show recently opened up about the series and how it portrays superheroes for kids.

“I think that what makes the show really great, in my opinion, is that the superheroes are the most irresponsible people and they should not be defending anybody,” Jace shared in an interview with Build Series.

“They can barely take care of themselves. People still think, ‘Oh, there are these amazing superheroes,’ but you see the behind the scenes of us and we don’t even know what’re doing.”

Jace also opened up about growing up side by side with Henry.

“Me and Henry grew at the same time. When I started, I was this nervous kid and then Henry was this nervous kid because he just got this job,” Jace shared.

He adds, “That’s kind of the transition I’ve been making in the show. [In] Season 3, the character of Henry has been going in that direction.”

Henry Danger‘s season three will conclude in August this year, and season four will pick up in the fall.

Jace Norman Teases 'Henry Danger's Animated Spinoff

Not only is Henry Danger getting their very own movie, but there’s an animated series coming as well.

Star Jace Norman opened up in a recent interview about going from a live action show to the animated one.

“It’s much harder, at least for me,” he admitted. “I’m so used to being able to use my physical body to do half of my work. [With animation], you have to sell it all with your voice and trust that the animators can do the other half basically.”

While it’s a more difficult role for Jace, he’s still enjoying it.

“It’s cool because, as you said, we can expand the world so much!” Jace says. “I think I’m most excited to see the vehicles that we have that we’ve talked about on the live-action but have never really seen.”

One thing on the animated show he really wants to see is Swellview!

“[For the live action show] we usually shoot indoors because it’s a multi-camera sitcom, so we’re getting to do more outside stuff on the animated series.”

JoJo Siwa & Jace Norman to Co-Star in Nickelodeon TV Movie 'Inside Voice'

JoJo Siwa is about to break into the big screen — and she’s doing it with none other than Henry Danger‘s Jace Norman.

JoJo, 14, and Jace, 17, will be starring in a new Nickelodeon TV movie called Inside Voice. The plot follows a boy who cannot stop saying his deepest inner thoughts — and his quest to get his brain back to normal with the help of his sister.

The two worked together in Nickelodeon’s Sizzling Summer Camp Special, in which Jace played a struggling ice-cream shop worker, and their on-screen chemistry must have caught the eye of Nickelodeon.

JoJo posted about the opportunity on Instagram yesterday, and her excitement mirrors our own.

“Ahhhh I am so excited!!!!” she writes in the caption, with no shortage of emojis. “I can finally tell you that I am in Canada filming my first movie !!!! It’s called ‘Inside Voice’ ! I Can’t wait to show you all some behind the scenes pictures on my Instagram stories!!!”

The film will be out in 2018.

Sabrina Carpenter, Jace Norman, & More Celebs Reveal Their Favorite Phone Apps (Exclusive)

Even famous people are obsessed with their phones.

We recently caught up with some of JJJ‘s favorite celebs and asked them about their most-used phone apps.

See what they had to say:

Sabrina Carpenter: “Oh, that’s hard! I don’t really play games or anything on my phone. I don’t have time! I’d say Instagram!”

Brent Rivera: “Oh, that’s a hard one. My favorite app I’d have to say is probably Instagram or something. I don’t want to be cliche. I don’t really know what app, I don’t really play any games except like this one game that’s a plane game and I have to land a plane. It’s so fun! It’s like the best thing ever, so maybe that’s my favorite app. It’s called X-Plane 10.”

Marcus Scrinber: “My favorite app, and I’m going to do a shameless plug, but my favorite app is YouTube! I love watching all the amazing videos that people like Brent put out and all those funny clips. YouTube is just probably one of my favorite apps, Instagram like Brent says, I love the iMessage app, it’s pretty cool too.”

Jace Norman: “Probably Snapchat. No, Instagram. Instagram, for sure.”

Peyton List: “Instagram is definitely the social that I check the most. I feel like I can get lost on the explore page and just looking up my friends’ photos. And once you start creeping, it’s hard to stop!”

Kendra-Leigh Timmins: “Definitely Instagram, because I think pictures are such a fun way to capture memories!”

“Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your homes & lives for the past decade,” he added. “It’s been a truly unforgettable honor.” (ICYMI, see what he recently had to say about a possible reunion episode!)

Zach Clayton Calls Out Nickelodeon Actor After Splitting With Girlfriend Daniella Perkins

If you didn’t hear the sad news, cutie pie couple Zach Clayton and Daniella Perkins split over the weekend.

“Zach & I decided it would be best for us to just be friends. We both have so much going on and it’s best for both of us,” Daniella announced on her Twitter on Saturday, with Zach echoing the statement.

He writes, “Dani and I have both decided it would be best for us to just be friends. We both have so much going on and it’ll best for both of us.”

However, it seems like there’s more to the story than just them both being busy right now and Zach is pointing fingers — right at Jace Norman.

Jace stars with Daniella in the upcoming Nickelodeon movie, Inside Voice, and it seems like he could be the reason behind the breakup.

“how does it feel coming in between people’s relationships @Jacenorman,” Zach wrote, calling him out. “what’s up henry danger, nickelodeon called you already and said to not say anything? think twice before stepping between pops relationships.”

Daniella says that it’s not true though and that she never cheated on Zach.

“I wouldn’t do that,” she shared in an Instagram Live video. “I’ve spent all day so sad that you guys think that and it sucks so much…People just sometimes grow apart and you get busy with everything and it’s just better to be friends.”

Jace Norman Undergoes a Serious Transformation for 'Henry Danger'

Henry Danger kicked off filming for season 5 in August, and we have so many questions.

Namely: what is going on with Jace Norman‘s hair?

The 17-year-old actor, who plays the title role, posted an Instagram today with his hair cropped on the sides, pulled back in the middle in a blonde ponytail, and complete with a goatee, sideburns, and a dangly earring. It looks super different, to say the least.

“Are you playing a genie?” one user joked.

Jace also posted a video to Instagram Stories revealing the transformation.

Only time will tell what this ~lewk~ is for!

The series will also reveal brand-new areas of the superheroes’ headquarters for the first time, including the Man Cave tube system, which propels the crime fighters into adventure; and the Man Cave garage, filled with crime-fighting vehicles and gadgets used on missions.

The Adventures of Kid Danger will premiere on Nickelodeon in the new year.

Jace Norman Doesn't Know If 'Henry Danger' Will Return for a 5th Season Or Not

Jace Norman, like all of us, doesn’t actually know if Henry Danger will be back for a 5th season on Nickelodeon or not.

Speaking with J-14 recently, the actor opened up about the future of the series.

“We are on Season 4. We have about two more episodes to film and then we don’t know about Season 5 yet,” Jace shared, saying that “this could be the last season, it could not be…we’re not sure yet.”

So, if this is the end of the series, it will join School of Rock, The Thundermans and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn in leaving the network next year.

“We actually haven’t even shot the [possible] series finale. That’s the next episode, so I have no idea until I read the script,” Jace added of how far in advance he knows what’s going to happen. “We get it the morning of, when we start rehearsing. So, I feel like a lot people think I got the inside on everything. I literally read the scripts the morning we start rehearsing.”

But, if this is the end, Jace knows that he wants an actual series finale, not a cliffhanger episode treatment.

“I definitely hope that if this is our last season, we can do a nice finale. I know that Victorious did not get one, and fans got kind of upset,” he says. “I hope we’re able to, but it is what it is.”

Jace Norman Talks Connecting Influencers With Brands Through Creator Edge Media

Jace Norman isn’t just an actor and digital influencer, he’s also a co-founder of Creator Edge Media.

The 17-year-old Henry Danger star helped create the company to ensure that digital influencers effectively partner with brands without being overly promotional, and allowing the creators more creative control with the brand marketing.

“I recently teamed up with my good friend Michael Gruen to launch Creator Edge Media—specifically because we were tired of seeing influencers not know how to effectively partner with brands, and brands not know how to work effectively with influencers,” Jace told Forbes. “We took it upon ourselves to solve that problem and connect brands with well-known social media influencers. We wanted to bridge that gap where people would actually care about the product being talked about in the post, and help influencers learn how to integrate it into their brand without being overly promotional.”

“What makes Creator Edge Media different is that we allow our clients to retain more creative control. Most of our clients are actors, so social media is really a side job for them, which means they’d rather make a bit less money to have a team that understands their brand quality over the long term,” Jace‘s partner and friend Michael Gruen said. “This is where having someone like Jace—someone who is known in the industry to produce quality YouTube and Instagram content—allows people to know off the bat that we are the real deal, and ready to win on their behalf. Currently, most agencies represent brands as opposed to celebrities. We only represent the talent, which gives us a lot more of the ability to be selective.”
